Union County is inviting residents to apply to serve as poll workers for the upcoming Primary Election on June 2, 2026. Poll workers will earn $300 for their service, working from 5:15 a.m. until at least 8:15 p.m., after the polls close.

The role of poll worker is important in making sure every eligible voter can participate in the election process. Officials say that serving as a poll worker offers residents a way to support their community and take part in democracy.

Applicants must be Union County residents who are at least 16 years old. Those aged 18 or older must also be registered voters. No previous experience is needed, but all new poll workers are required to attend an in-person training session before Election Day.

Residents interested in applying can do so online by visiting the Union County Board of Elections website at www.ucnj.org/pollworker. Paper applications are also available by calling the Board of Elections at 908-527-4236 or emailing pollworker@ucnj.org.

More information about becoming a poll worker can be found at ucnj.org/pollworker or on the Union County Board of Elections website at www.ucnj.org/ucboe.
