The Union County Board of Elections announced on April 15 that secure ballot drop boxes for the 2026 Primary Election will open on Friday, April 17. Administrator Nicole DiRado said voters can access the full list of drop box locations on the Union County Board of Elections website.

This information is important as it helps voters know where to cast their ballots securely and find updated polling sites. Two ballot drop box locations have changed this year: in Hillside, the box has moved to Conant Park at 320 Conant Street, and in Summit, it is now at the Summit Community Center at 100 Morris Avenue. All 24 secure ballot drop boxes will remain available until polls close at 8:00 p.m. on June 2.

The Board said all drop boxes are monitored by cameras around the clock, accessible to voters at any time, and compliant with ADA standards. The full list of certified polling places is also available online, with changes this year affecting Elizabeth, Linden, Roselle Park, and Union. Voters impacted by these changes will receive notification postcards before Election Day.

Each voter’s assigned polling location can be found on their sample ballot. The Board encourages residents to bring their sample ballots when voting in person for a smoother check-in process.

For more information or to view complete lists of both polling places and ballot drop boxes in Union County, voters are directed to visit www.ucnj.org/boe.
