The Union County Board of County Commissioners announced on Mar. 23 four new dates in April for its Aging Services Kiosk (ASK) program, inviting seniors and caregivers to attend events at neighborhood libraries. The initiative aims to connect older adults and their caregivers with resources, guidance, and assistance from experienced professionals.

The ASK program is intended to help seniors stay informed about available services that can improve their quality of life. Beginning in April, bilingual assistance will be offered at all ASK events.

“We designed our ‘ASK’ program to keep our senior community connected, informed, and hopeful about their future. At these events, residents have the opportunity to speak with our friendly and helpful staff that is ready to answer their questions and connect them with any available resources that can help them save money, maintain essential services, or improve their quality of life,” said Union County Commissioner Chairman Joseph C. Bodek. “We invite all seniors and caregivers to visit their neighborhood library to learn how we can help.”

The Division on Aging operates the kiosks as part of the Department of Human Services. Adults aged 60 or older and caregivers can access information about programs such as home-delivered meals, respite care, home care services, adult day care options, and caregiver support services during these sessions. Attendance does not require an appointment or pre-registration.

April’s ASK events are scheduled for Hillside Public Library on Tuesday, April 7; Elizabeth Public Library – Main on Thursday, April 16; Westfield Memorial Library on Wednesday, April 22; and Rahway Public Library on Wednesday, April 29. All sessions run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

“This program wouldn’t be as remarkably successful without the outstanding staff at our Division on Aging. Their dedication to Union County seniors and caregivers is unmatched,” said Union County Commissioner James Baker.
