County of Union, New Jersey issued the following announcement.
Today Commissioner Bette Jane Kowalski met with Congressman Donald Payne (NJ-10), Congresswoman Katherine Clark (MA-5) and Cranford Mayor Kathleen Prunty as well as other local elected officials, to discuss how Union County will benefit from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
Congressman Payne, who chairs the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee, secured $1.1 billion dollars over the next five years to repair critical infrastructure in the region – which will improve transportation and the economy as the community recovers from the pandemic.
