Kean University has retired the jersey number of MLB pitcher Kevin Herget, a member of the Kean Athletics Hall of Fame. Herget’s jersey, number 16, is now officially retired, marking him as the first baseball player and third athlete in the university’s history to receive this honor. The ceremony celebrated Herget’s journey from his time at Kean to his career in Major League Baseball.

“Join us in celebrating Kean Athletics Hall of Fame member and MLB pitcher Kevin Herget as his jersey number – #16 – is officially retired at Kean University,” said a statement about the event. The celebration highlighted Herget’s achievements since graduating from Kean in 2015.
