The Clark Township Health Department is inviting residents to attend a free heart health event, “Start Heart Smart,” scheduled for March 16 at the Clark Public Library. The event will take place from 3:00 to 8:00 PM in the Ayers Rooms.

The initiative aims to promote cardiovascular wellness among community members by offering important health screenings and educational opportunities. Organizers say the event is open to all residents aged 18 and older.

Attendees will have access to cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure screenings. In addition, there will be a “Know Your Numbers” presentation focused on heart health, as well as a mix-and-mingle session featuring a healthy cooking demonstration. Registration is required for screenings, but walk-ins will be accepted if time permits. Fasting before the screenings is preferred but not mandatory.

The Clark Township Health Department said it hopes this event will encourage more people to monitor their heart health and adopt healthier habits.

Events like these are part of ongoing efforts by local public health officials to raise awareness about preventable conditions such as heart disease. By providing free resources and information, they aim to empower residents with knowledge that can lead to better long-term outcomes.
