Kean University recently commemorated its Founders Day with a display of gratitude and camaraderie, as students, alumni, friends, and employees came together to contribute record-breaking gifts towards supporting future generations of students at the institution. The event, which spanned two days, featured various activities including a 5K run and campus gatherings.

Reflecting on the significance of Founders Day, Kean President Lamont O. Repollet expressed, "Founders Day celebrates our proud history and traditions. It’s a wonderful way for us to connect our story with philanthropy and giving." Students like Ramisha Bhatti, a junior biology major, also shared their enthusiasm, stating, "Kean was my first choice, I was so happy I got accepted."

During the celebrations, students took the opportunity to express their appreciation for the support received. One student conveyed, “Because of you, students are able to continue their education,” while another added, “This university is an amazing place filled with great people!”

The generosity displayed by the Kean community did not go unnoticed, with Kean Foundation Chief Executive Officer William Miller remarking, "The generosity of the Kean community continues to inspire and amaze us all." Miller further highlighted the remarkable growth of Kean's annual day of giving, emphasizing the immediate and significant impact of the collective contributions.

Chief Advancement Officer Matt Caruso emphasized the growing sense of pride among Kean alumni, noting, "There is a pride growing among alumni that is spreading." Caruso also highlighted the opportunities for alumni to stay connected with the institution through various avenues of involvement.

In a touching tribute, donor Lori Riccio honored the memory of late Kean graduate Brett Christian Coleman '18 by contributing to the Kean Wellness Center, stating, “He and my daughter met at Kean. He was a supporter of our charity, and a great person. I just wanted to keep Brett’s name alive."

The spirit of giving and unity displayed during Founders Day at Kean University serves as a testament to the institution's rich history and the enduring impact of philanthropy within its community.
